Luxury Home Designs Worthy of Showcasing Your 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO.

What is rare, beautiful, costs the same as the GDP of a small pacific island nation (Tuvalu to be exact), and fits in your living room? As it turns out, a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO is all those things and if you have the right architect, will fit in your living room like all the other fine pieces of design you currently own. In the realm of luxury real estate, a new trend is revving up excitement (shameful pun) and redefining the concept of collector living. Welcome to the era of “carchitecture,” or car gallery homes, where automotive enthusiasts and affluent homeowners merge their passions for design and high-performance vehicles.

These extraordinary residences seamlessly integrate state-of-the-art garages with architectural elegance, creating immersive environments that celebrate the artistry of automobiles while offering unparalleled luxury living spaces. Filled with Nürburgring record-holding supercars to sexy classics, car gallery homes are driving a small but growing revolution in residential architecture, captivating enthusiasts and collectors alike.
The cars that we are talking about are in some very rarified air. These are single-digit production number sports cars, one-off racecars, and cars so rare and expensive that replacement parts for them do not exist. These are not Dan Tanna’s woeful 1957 Ford Thunderbird which he parked in his living room in the 1980’s TV show VEGA$. Let’s forget about the fact that his 20-year-old Ford would have leaked more asphyxiating fumes than Iraq. More to the point, Robert Urich’s Ford was neither rare, beautiful nor expensive. To justify the expense of this kind of design, and its integrated technology, necessitates the kind of cars that are bought by unnamed buyers in private auctions.

Car Gallery at home
The origins of the car gallery home are not easily defined. Architects like Le Corbusier, Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Rohe all saw automotive design as part of the experience that influenced their architecture beginning in the 30s with the rise of the automobile industry. Frank Lloyd Wright may not have parked his 1949 Crosley Super Sport in the foyer, but he did design residences that featured beautiful spaces for cars. Wright owned 86 vehicles in his life, and even had a shot at designing one in 1958 (although the words hideous, vindictive and confusing come to mind when you see the design). Thankfully, Mr. Wright stuck to his day job. In the late 20th century, affluent collectors sought innovative ways to showcase their prized possessions. What began as a niche phenomenon has evolved into a full-fledged architectural movement, driven by a convergence of technological advancements, design innovation and a growing demand for bespoke luxury residences.

At the heart of the car gallery home is the desire to seamlessly integrate automotive passion with everyday living. These residences offer more than just a place to park vehicles; they serve as immersive environments where automobiles are elevated to the status of art. From climate-controlled display areas to custom lighting and integrated audiovisual systems, every aspect of the car gallery home is meticulously designed to accentuate the beauty and performance of the vehicles within.

What sets car gallery homes apart from traditional luxury estates is their emphasis on automotive-centric design and functionality. At the core of these residences is the car gallery itself, a spacious showcase area that serves as the focal point of the home. Here, vehicles take center stage, displayed like works of art in a museum, surrounded by glass walls, polished concrete floors and minimalist aesthetics that highlight their beauty and craftsmanship.

Beyond the gallery space, car gallery homes offer a wealth of amenities and features designed to cater to the needs and desires of automotive enthusiasts. This includes expansive garages equipped with state-of-the-art lifts, detailing stations and climate control systems to preserve the integrity of the vehicles. Some residences even boast private racetracks, car elevators and dedicated service bays, allowing homeowners to indulge their passion for driving and maintenance in ultimate luxury and privacy.

Central to the allure of car gallery homes is the seamless integration of luxury and technology, creating residences that are as innovative as they are opulent. Smart home automation systems allow homeowners to control every aspect of their living environment, from lighting and temperature to security and entertainment, with the touch of a button or voice command.

In the realm of automotive technology, car gallery homes are at the forefront of innovation, offering cutting-edge features such as automated parking systems, electric vehicle charging stations and integrated vehicle management platforms. These advancements not only enhance the convenience and functionality of the residence, but also elevate the overall experience of owning and interacting with high-performance vehicles.

Ferrari Car Gallery
For automotive enthusiasts and collectors, the appeal of car gallery homes lies in their ability to seamlessly integrate passion with lifestyle, offering a sanctuary where cars are not just possessions but extensions of personal identity and expression. These residences provide a platform for showcasing prized collections, connecting with like-minded automotive enthusiasts and indulging in the thrill of driving and exploration.

Beyond the automotive realm, car gallery homes offer a luxurious retreat from the hustle and bustle of urban life, with spacious living areas, expansive outdoor spaces and panoramic views that invite relaxation and rejuvenation. Whether hosting intimate gatherings or grand soirées (as one does), homeowners can entertain guests in style, surrounded by the beauty and sophistication of their automotive sanctuary.

As the demand for bespoke luxury experiences continues to grow, the future of residential carchitecture is poised to grow with the demand. Car gallery homes represent a bold vision for the future of luxury living, where passion, design and technology converge to create immersive environments that celebrate the artistry and excitement of automobiles.

As more discerning homeowners seek out unique and personalized spaces that reflect their interests and aspirations, the market for car gallery homes is expected to expand, offering new opportunities for architects, designers and developers to push the boundaries of creativity and luxury. Whether it’s a sleek modern masterpiece or a timeless architectural gem, car gallery homes are driving a revolution in residential design, redefining the concept of luxury living for generations to come.

In the world of elite investments, where luxury yachts, private jets, and works of art produced by the world’s most recognizable and important artists dominate, a captivating new trend is emerging among discerning collectors and savvy investors: natural history specimens. Fossils, meteorites, and minerals offer not only a tangible connection to Earth’s ancient past and the cosmos but also a unique and potentially lucrative investment.

Leading this ever-growing and fascinating market is Fossil Realm, a natural history gallery and consultancy based in Ottawa, Canada. Under the direction of Peter Lovisek, the firm regularly assists with the development of prestigious private collections across the globe and has placed numerous fossil specimens in renowned institutions, including the CosmoCaixa science museum in Barcelona, Spain, the Museo delle Culture (MUSEC) in Lugano, Switzerland, and The University of Waterloo Earth Sciences Museum in Ontario, Canada.

The Fascination with Natural History

Fascination with natural history specimens lies in their inherent rarity and beauty. Fossils capture the imagination with their stories of prehistoric life. Meteorites place pieces of the universe in the palms of our hands. Minerals mesmerize with their vibrant colors and crystalline structures. These objects are not just artifacts; they are works of art, pieces of history that have survived eons, each telling a unique story of Earth’s geological and biological evolution.

As the market for unique and rare collectibles continues to grow, natural history specimens are becoming increasingly attractive to those looking to diversify their investment portfolios with items that combine scientific significance with aesthetic beauty.

“Apex” the Stegosaurus: A Record-Breaking Sale

Sotheby’s recent record breaking auction result for a Stegosaurus skeleton known as “Apex” ($44.6 million) has set a new benchmark in the industry, highlighting the immense value and interest in exclusive natural history specimens. This sale, which occurred on July 17th 2024, not only underscores the financial potential of investing in fossils but also demonstrates the growing appreciation for these rare artifacts. “Apex” the Stegosaurus surpasses previous records held by other iconic fossils, including “Stan” the Tyrannosaurus rex which sold for $31.8 million in 2020 at Christie’s, a Deinonychus (raptor) skeleton which sold for $12.4 million at Christie’s in 2022, and “Big John” the Triceratops which sold in 2021 for $7.7 million at Hotel Drouot in Paris. However, It’s not just dinosaur fossils that capture high prices

Meteorites and Minerals

Meteorites are among the rarest and most valuable resources on Earth. Only about 5-6 will actually land on earth each year, and 70% of those will be lost in the oceans. At around 4.5 billion years old, and 10,000 times more rare than diamonds, these one of a kind space treasures have proven to be excellent investments. According to Craig Zliman, the Vice President of the International Meteorite Collectors Association, “the Fukang meteorite, now believed to be the most valuable meteorite on Earth, could be purchased for only $3 per gram just 10 years ago. Today, the average price is $80 to $100 per gram, and is nearly impossible to find.”

Interestingly, the most valuable meteorites in the world – which are housed in prestigious museums – have never hit the market. For example, the Willamette Meteorite, the largest meteorite found in the United States and the sixth largest in the world, is arguably worth substantially more than the most valuable dinosaur skeleton.

The finest minerals and crystals have proven to be incredibly valuable as well. According to prominent dealer Stuart Wilensky, they now regularly sell in the $100,000 to $1,000,000 range with the most expensive pieces reaching $5,000,000 and even above $10 million. He explains that “Minerals have been excellent investments over the past 40 years, far exceeding the S&P 500.”

Diversifying Investment Portfolios

For investors looking to diversify their portfolios, natural history specimens offer a unique and compelling opportunity. The tangible nature of these assets provides a hedge against market volatility, while their rarity and historical significance add an element of exclusivity. As the market for rare and unique collectibles continues to grow, natural history specimens are poised to become an increasingly attractive option for discerning investors.

The high number of record breaking auction results within the past five years is a testament to the growing value of these extraordinary objects. For those ready to embark on this journey, Fossil Realm provides the expertise, integrity, and accessibility needed to make an investment both meaningful and profitable.

Explore the Aston Martin’s Chimp Art Exhibit

The Aston Martin Residences Art Gallery, in a pioneering move, partners with Save The Chimps for its newest virtual exhibition series, showcasing “Interspecies,” a unique fusion of art and sanctuary. This collaboration marks the first charitable venture of its kind for the luxury Miami-based residences, with the exhibit offering a 45-day immersive 3D experience that mirrors the gallery’s upcoming physical space on the 52nd floor.

Save The Chimps, headquartered in Fort Pierce, Florida, stands as a beacon for chimpanzee welfare, providing a safe haven for individuals rescued from research, the pet trade, and entertainment. This exhibit brings their mission to the forefront of the art world.

The exhibition features a vibrant interaction between The B-52s band members—Kate Pierson, Fred Schneider, and Cindy Wilson—and the chimpanzee artists from the sanctuary. Together, they create a series of acrylic-on-canvas paintings, with each artwork reflecting the band’s dynamic album artwork and named after their iconic songs.

Karen Bystedt’s contributions of “Lost Warhols” originals offer a canvas for the chimps’ artistic expressions, blending iconic imagery with primal creativity. The exhibition also includes a collection of paintings set against chrome backgrounds, where the chimpanzee artists’ strokes bring to life the legacy of Aston Martin, each piece named after the automaker’s legendary models.

Dan Mathews, Director of Events at Save The Chimps, shares the excitement surrounding the exhibition’s impact and its role in promoting the sanctuary’s mission through partnerships like the recent one with The B-52s at major art fairs, including Spectrum Miami.

Anticipation builds for the next art fair at Artexpo New York, where Save The Chimps will reveal their latest celebrity artist collaboration. A special artwork inspired by the Aston Martin Residences’ architectural elegance and its tropical locale will also join the Residences’ permanent collection, showcasing the unique talents of the sanctuary’s chimpanzee artists.

The “Interspecies” exhibit at the Aston Martin Residences Art Gallery invites viewers into a world where luxury meets conservation, available for viewing in a state-of-the-art 3D virtual gallery experience.

This is the second of a two-part guide to art investment presented by Artelier, a UK-based art consultancy that specializes in curating art for luxury residences, yachts, aircraft, hotels and corporations. The first part of the guide appeared in Jetset’s Issue #3 for 2023.

When diving into the abundance of artists sold in galleries, auctions and online, it can seem overwhelming to know what to look for to spot quality. Giving an exclusive insight, the curators at Artelier outline the in-house considerations they use to help evaluate an artist’s investment potential.

Undiscovered Talent: Under-the-radar artists can offer fresh, inspiring ideas at a fair price without a premium based on name and reputation, suggesting a favorable investment opportunity in an unsaturated market.

Growing Career: Advisors consider projected career paths based on past growth and potential to spot art entry-level prices that can significantly increase in value.

Originality: Copying others traps artists into being overly derivative; the artists who demonstrate original thought and use materials in interesting ways stand out in a vast market.

Quality of Ideas: Eloquently demonstrated richness and subtlety in an idea make artworks more sophisticated and thought-provoking. These can develop into a lasting line of inquiry that can become part of the artist’s recognizable (and valuable) “brand.”

Materials: Novel use of materials demonstrates the artist’s pioneering attitude and willingness to go against the grain and can earn artists a reputation as originators of new ideas.

Skill and Ability: Technical ability, especially with an unusual technique, can demonstrate ingenuity and a visual language that isn’t commonly found elsewhere.

Experience: Examining an artist’s training and experience can indicate the quality of their practice, in terms of practical skill and conceptual nuance.

Commitment: Artists who dedicate their life to their practice demonstrate a high level of commitment and are least likely to follow trends to create ground-breaking work.

Focus: Rather than constantly jumping between ideas and mediums, consistent focus can lead to a sophisticated artistic practice that is set to develop more reliably.

Versatility: While maintaining focus, versatile artists go beyond making one type of work repeatedly, responding to shifting contexts and maturing their ideas.

Evolution and Longevity: Artists who only follow current popular aesthetics are limited long term, while those with an impulse for evolution show greater promise for investment as they will continue to stay relevant.

Innovation: Artists with a pioneering spirit for experimentation often produce the most unexpected and impressive work—a quality that can get them recognized and accelerate their career.

Why Collections Management Matters

After acquisition, properly managing and caring for art collections is critical for maintaining their value. Adequate insurance is essential to protect from theft or damage, as is using reliable specialists for all aspects of shipping, installation and presentation. A maintenance strategy is also important—consider the medium’s care needs, the condition of the piece and the age of the artwork. Your approach will vary depending on whether you are seeking to present the artwork in your personal space or manage the piece in a specialist storage facility.

“Presentation is both a strategy for maximizing an artwork’s impact in a space and a method for preservation. Location, lighting and framing can transform the experience of a special piece, but they should also be considered in terms of protecting the pieces,” tells David Knowles, director of Artelier. High-value, delicate pieces should be presented in places where they are unlikely to be damaged by moving people, fumes, direct natural light or humidity and specialist framing and UV glass can provide additional protection. Mediums like sculptures made of hard-wearing stones or steel are well-suited for being placed outside, while other materials age quickly outdoors or develop a patina. Technical fixings are needed for more unusual installations (such as suspended artworks) or particular environments (like yachts). Considering artwork care from the outset can save on costly restoration.

Enjoying your collection is, of course, part of the appeal of investing in art. Being inspired by top advice from specialists for intelligently curating your artworks can maximize their effect:

  • Placement is important – consider the size of the piece in relation to the space and its key viewpoints. Larger artworks may have most impact alone, while smaller pieces can be arranged in groups that complement each other or contrast in surprising ways. Choosing dramatic spaces like a staircase or opposite doors can create a “moment,” or enhance less-prominent rooms like hallways or studies.
  • Mixing styles and mediums in a room also creates a dynamic display, giving visual interest by combining paintings, sculptures and more unusual wall-art mediums like metal, ceramics or wood. They can create a cohesive collection through exploring similar themes and color palettes that correspond to the mood of the room.
  • Lighting can make or break a piece. Indirect natural light can reveal amazing subtleties in a medium, or bespoke spotlights can be developed to illuminate the artwork on a wall, plinth, corner or niche.
  • To make the most of your collection, regularly rotate the pieces you display. This gives the opportunity to showcase different artworks in key spaces, as well as to instantly refresh your space and create a new ambience in a room.

Design Miami/Basel 2023 marked their 17th convention, where 26 of the world’s leading collectible design galleries showcased their finest works to a vast audience of thousands. Despite the impressive figure of over 16,000 attendees, Miami/Basel had a more intimate atmosphere compared to their other events. The main event, Art Basel, typically attracts crowds of over 90,000 people spanning several days.

Taking place at the Basel Messeplatz in Switzerland, Design Miami/Basel displayed the best of both regions. This special edition of the fair had a more intimate setting, featuring a celebration of 20th-century historic works and standout contemporary pieces. . The event encompassed awards, sales, debuts and more at Miami/Basel 2023. Sales, in particular, soared into the millions, because pieces ranged from €300,000 – 2,000,000.

“Design Miami’s mission has always been to celebrate the best of historic and contemporary design by bringing together like-minded members of our global design network, and this year was no different,” said Jennifer Roberts, CEO of Design Miami.

A new addition to Miami/Basel programming was Foreign Agent from Lausanne, Switzerland. They showcased emerging talent from Africa, the Diaspora, and beyond. Their work often centers around marginalized identities and offers new perspectives on history. This year, their booth exhibited the works of Hamed Outarra, an artist born in Ouagadougou, who conveyed a narrative of environmental injustice using discarded and upcycled objects.

Grela Orihuela, Senior VP of Fairs, stated, “This special edition of Design Miami/Basel presents an exciting opportunity to reflect on the past, present, and future of our flagship Swiss edition. Together with our participating galleries, we look forward to celebrating the fair’s history as a platform that has helped uncover and establish some of the greatest names across both historic and contemporary design, while continuing to spotlight new and emerging talent.”

Stay tuned for Jetset’s coverage of Basel’s October event.

Glitzy Gamer: Queen Victoria’s Domino Set Sells for Nearly $365,000

The unknown purchaser is the newest owner of the Monarch’s beloved dominoes set that also features a secret musical compartment.

It’s common to think of dominoes as a game played in a park or elementary classroom with plastic pieces. But thanks to the latest owner of Queen Victoria’s pearl encrusted domino set, the centuries old game has become a unique representation of luxury and investment collecting after the late British monarch’s dominoes set was sold for roughly $365,000 at a Sotheby’s auction.

The pearl-set box that houses 28 pieces or domino ‘counters’ features ornate craftsmanship of gold and enamel. Fashioned in Switzerland by renowned watchmakers Bautte & Moynier, Geneva, 1804-1808, the set’s pieces are contained in a gem coated box that features “an oval vignette” of “Cupid sailing on his quiver before a mountainscape,” notes Sotheby’s.

Cupid of course is the Roman god of love.

The box’s romantic flare, with Cupid flanked by an outline of gold and pearls, was perfect for Queen Victoria. Dominoes was said to be a preferred leisurely escape for the sovereign of the powerful British Empire and her husband and gaming companion Prince Albert.

Throughout her life Queen Victoria would keep daily journals with her passion for dominoes making frequent appearances in her entries. And in an age where electricity had not revolutionized society and its leisurely escapes, Queen Victoria’s dominoes inspired a sense of wonder not unlike the latest technology today.

The pearl-set gold and enamel musical domino set is an excellent example of highly coveted mechanical trinkets enjoyed by royalty in the Victorian era: The right side of the box features a hinged key compartment “containing a matching oval pearl-set gold and enamel key” with a sliding lid housing a concealed musical compartment in addition to the set’s 28 counters,” explains Sotheby’s.

Queen Victoria ascended to the throne in 1837 at the age of 18 and reigned for nearly 64 years. Her Majesty Queen Victoria of the United Kingdom in all likelihood gifted this remarkable trinket to her son Prince Leopold, Duke of Albany.

The box, explains Sotheby’s, was passed down to her royal descendants until being obtained by Christie’s where it remained a much sought after artifact of one of history’s most captivating monarchs.

The early 2000’s is an unmistakably cool era for just about anything from low-rise jeans to lovestruck vocalists. But 20 years later, collectibles from the beloved decade have garnered attention and an extravagant reputation. In a surprising and unexpected reveal, Texas rapper Travis Scott has recently re-introduced his collaboration with Louis Vuitton from 2003. The designer gadget is none other than a miniature laptop, and it’s yours to keep for the somewhat-conservative price of an iPhone.

Disguised as a fashionable crossbody bag on the surface, this statement tech piece is handcrafted of the brand’s signature ‘Damier Ebene’ canvas to form an ultra-sleek and distinctive look. It’s finished with the elegant moniker in goldtone lettering. It opens to reveal a retro interface that only functions in Japanese. Honestly, it’s just as cool when it serves as a collectible, but if you’re planning to geek out on its technological features, just know it’s powered by a windows operating system. Speaking of impressive add-ons, it has a dark brown QWERTY keyboard that’s exceptionally smart and minimal. It’s sized to showcase an adorably petite silhouette that’s just barely 8 inches wide. It also comes equipped with a stylus, headphone jack, leather wristband, and charger.

The seemingly bespoke tech piece was released in 2003 on the 25th anniversary of the opening of Louis Vuitton’s first Japanese atelier. Even though it’s coveted and quite rare, the price reflects its pre-loved facade with a lightly worn exterior, but the heart of the designer piece is fully operational.

Purchase it on eBay for a remarkable $1,000 – which is quite a deal when compared to the brand’s fair-condition handbags that have sold for an upwards of $11,000. The luxury e-commerce marketplace, 1st Dibs is also selling the laptop for a staggering $4,140, nearly four times the price. Surely, an eager fan will resonate with this rare gem after an intimate moment of nostalgia.

Designer Craving: The Release Of Louis Vuitton’s Burger Box

It’s natural to over indulge. In fact, luxury design house Louis Vuitton welcomes the insatiable desire. Reimagining one of the many epicurean delights, the brand’s newest collector’s piece undoubtedly has mouth-watering appeal. We present to you the Burger Box by Louis Vuitton. Abounding in couture touches and highly-intentional design, the modular silhouette has held up to the label’s namesake. It’s an elevated approach to carry-out dining that’s inspired by the colorful hues of condiments and the natural look of leafy greens.

It may look like a statement clutch or a place for precious jewels. Although it could serve multiple purposes, it’s intended to display in your living room as a crafty and eccentric solution for storing coasters. It opens with a smooth goldtone push-stud to reveal a set of six of them in primary hues – each made to represent the colors of carnivorous toppings.

Handmade in Paris from the house’s soft monogram leather, the box’s floral print takes a feminine approach that plays against the simple, and somewhat childlike interpretation of the structure. In typical designer fashion, the box suggests an unusual or experimental moment for the brand. But don’t misconstrue its oddness for lack of ingenious craftsmanship. It intelligently blends the two design elements to form a piece all its own. For unexpected flair, it has a cheerful blooming pattern that wraps the entirety of the exterior.

Display the food-centered favorite on your leather ottoman or game table, and it will soon become one of your most-loved conversation pieces. Guests will discover the world’s most prestigious LV brick-and-mortar destinations etched across the center of each coaster in the set.

Even though the box surely won’t be housing your next gourmet burger, you’ll fall in love with it simply for the clever design. We divulge that your stomach may remain empty, but your impulsive designer purchase may be just enough to satisfy your craving. Shop the look for an extravagant $2,600 on the brand’s online atelier.

Paul Allen Legacy: Tatoosh Superyacht and $1B Art Collection for Sale

Long recognized for his philanthropy, Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen was always extremely openhanded with the massive fortune he has compiled over the past nearly 50 years. In fact, over the decades Allen donated approximately 10% of his $20B total fortune to various causes and charities across the globe. Now, with the posthumous impending acquisitions of two of his most valuable possessions, and with 100% of proceeds from the upcoming auction of his record-breaking art collection going to charity, Allen’s enigmatic travels and philanthropic legacy are sure to reach new and unprecedented heights.

The Yacht – Tatoosh

The first item up for sale will be located at the Monaco Yacht Show this week, where the Paul Allen estate will be making one of the world’s largest and most state-of-the-art super yachts, Tatoosh, available for viewing to potential buyers. Fresh off the heels of an 11-month top to bottom retrofitting, this already prized ocean faring vessel is now poised to become one of the most sought after yachts anywhere on the globe.

With an estimated price tag of somewhere in the 90 million dollar range, Tatoosh will come fully loaded with some of the most luxurious amenities and state of the art safety technologies currently available. Just a few of the amenities Tatoosh boasts include a heated swimming pool, sauna, cinema, gym, and observation lounge, as well as some more functional luxuries such as a climate controlled wine storage, fully equipped scuba diving center, two helicopters each with its own helipad, and a pair of 12-meter state of the art racing sailboats.

Tatoosh’s living quarters also impress, with the yacht’s main interior serving as a two-story luxury apartment on the water. Rich and refined with an inviting casualness, the yacht’s interior design sports an eclectic mix of vintage, curio, and antique furniture and decor. The owner’s cabin is a spacious private residence unto itself, boasting 2 full suites as well as a private galley, lobby, and pantry all secluded from the ship’s other various shared areas and private rooms. With functional luxury always at the forefront of Tatoosh’s design, she is fully equipped to take her next owner anywhere across the seven seas, while always in the most sensational style.

The Art Collection – Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection

In what is sure to be one of the most anticipated and lucrative art auctions in history, Christie’s New York is slated to host “Visionary: The Paul G. Allen Collection” on November 9th and 10th at Rockefeller Center.

Valued at over 1 billion dollars in total, this private collection contains over 150 masterpieces, and spans 500 years of work by some of history’s most renowned artists. Headlining the auction will be works by artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Claude Monet, David Hockney, and Georgia O’Keeffe, which is why it has generated such huge international attention.
