Rogue Industries is a Maine based maker operation. The company was started in 2007 when the founder, Michael Lyons, developed excruciating lower back pain and created a curved front pocket wallet prototype – that was 650,000 wallets ago.

After Rogue Industries introduced their patented curved front pocket wallet in 2007, it became a dream of the company to actually make their own products.  “How hard could that be?”, thought Michael Lyons, Founder.

In 2015 the company purchased an abandoned farm house along with a workshop on 14 acres in Standish, Maine.  The effort involved with the details of setting up actual production presented a steep learning curve.   Their very first production hire was a lady with extensive stitching and sail making experience- but none in leather.  She is still with them and now runs the shop.

Rogue acquired an industrial splitter to thin the leather down, a 10 ton hydraulic press to cut the thick pieces of leather from the hides, and a dizzying array of very specialized and rather pricey sewing machines for both leather and waxed canvas.   “The finished product simultaneously looks both simple and elegant- but the expertise and technology which goes into it are more involved than I would have ever believed,” says Lyons.

He continued by disclosing  “A colleague of ours who had previously run a well known leather bag company in New York called me up and asked if I was crazy when we were considering setting up a stitching facility.  He reminded me of the fact that I knew nothing about leather stitching.”

The colleague was right.  Rogue Industries had designs, patents and ideas- but no experience in actually producing finished goods.  The first few items created were early stage prototypes and couldn’t even be sold.  Then the next set got better.  And better again.  Rogue learned about the nuances of leather stitching and finishing.  They say that it has not been an easy path to set up a small maker factory here in the US- but it’s rewarding to take an idea on paper and create a beautifully finished product worthy of being on the World stage.

And it’s equally as rewarding to take a customer into their Workshop and show them where the leather comes in, how it gets selected, cut, stitched and polished.

The essence of Rogue’s modest success is not trying to sell their unique wallet design to everyone.  It’s finding the few customers that appreciate the distinctive design, like Jon Stevens that recently called in from Newtown, Pennsylvania and unsolicited, said  “This wallet is genius.”

Specializing in curved front pocket wallets, the company has expanded from one single initial offering to over 80 unique designs ranging from duffle bags, totes, belts, and brief cases to laptop bags.

Their materials of preference are high end specialized leathers such as American Bison, Moose, Salmon and Steer. Waxed canvas offerings have been added to the line to compliment the leather designs.  Amazingly, 70% of their designs are now made in Maine.

Dior’s latest showcase at Paris Fashion Week for the Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 season is not just a fashion show; it’s a historical journey and a vision for the future. Under the creative direction of Maria Grazia Chiuri, Dior revisits the pivotal era of the late 1960s, a time when fashion transitioned from the exclusivity of the atelier to the global stage. This period marked the birth of Miss Dior in 1967, a ready-to-wear line that democratized fashion under the stewardship of Marc Bohan and his assistant Philippe Guibourgé.

Chiuri’s collection draws inspiration from this transformative epoch, emphasizing the importance of imagination in a rapidly evolving society. It’s a tribute to the blend of art, fashion, architecture, and music that defined visual culture, with special homage to Gabriella Crespi. Crespi, an artist and designer admired by Bohan and a symbol of pioneering independent women for Chiuri, significantly influenced Dior’s aesthetic during this era.

The Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 collection is a celebration of diversity and innovation. It revisits the foundational elements that made the Miss Dior boutique a beacon of new dressing in Paris. The scarf, a favored accessory of Maria Grazia Chiuri, underscores the collection’s versatility and adaptability, symbolizing freedom and fluidity in design. The silhouettes are liberating, with A-line designs that gracefully complement the female form, ensuring comfort without constriction.

Color plays a crucial role, with the palette nodding to Marc Bohan’s original range—white, orange, pink, and neon green, thoughtfully integrated into both the garments and the makeup. The collection boasts exquisite materials, including double cashmere and gabardine, crafted into elegant dresses, pants, coats, jackets, and knee-length skirts. The Miss Dior logo, a manifesto-signature, appears in a vibrant array of blues, reds, and browns, while traditional studs give way to intricate beading and bold embroidery.

The runway presentation itself was a spectacle, set against a backdrop conceived by Indian artist Shakuntala Kulkarni. Kulkarni’s exploration of the female body in relation to space perfectly complemented the collection’s thematic essence. The models, embodying the radiant strength of a pluralistic, autonomous, and versatile femininity, navigated the decor with confidence and grace, reactivating the spirit of creative freedom that Miss Dior epitomizes.

Dior’s Autumn-Winter 2024-2025 collection at Paris Fashion Week stands as a testament to the enduring influence of the past and its pivotal role in shaping the future of fashion. Maria Grazia Chiuri’s vision, deeply rooted in history yet forward-looking, offers a fresh perspective on femininity, creativity, and unity through design.

In a spectacular display of fashion and creativity, Louis Vuitton, under the artistic direction of Pharrell Williams, took over Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour for its Men’s Pre-Fall 2024 Show. The event, held on November 30, 2023, showcased Williams’ second collection for the iconic brand.

Transforming the Avenue of Stars into a runway, the show presented a striking nautical theme to an audience of 1,200. A sandy promenade, flanked by screens depicting rolling blue waves, set the stage for a collection that perfectly blended elegance with maritime flair.

Models donned naval-inspired hats and strutted in sharp suits, shorts, and distinctively clunky footwear. As the show progressed, the attire shifted to more playful, vibrant pieces, featuring tropical shirts and shorts paired with Louis Vuitton’s signature, brightly colored bags in various shapes and sizes.

Culminating in a breathtaking drone display over the harbour, forming an immense LV logo, the show left guests in awe. Pharrell Williams himself graced the finale, looking dapper in a wing-tipped jacket, complete with a tie, hat, and heart-shaped glasses.

Here’s a glimpse into some of the standout looks from this unforgettable runway event.

In the midst of luminescent spotlights and the hum of anticipation, the curtain drew back to reveal Luly Yang’s latest masterpiece, Made in Nature graced the catwalk, it did more than just showcase garments. It narrated a tale of nature’s magnificence, shimmering with dedication and charity, raising an impressive $80k+ for Seattle Children’s Hospital.

The Ocean’s Serenade

Imagine diving into the deep abyss, only to be met with a kaleidoscope of oranges, corals, passionate reds, and enigmatic blacks. The velvets whispered tales of oceanic mysteries, gracefully giving way to the silk that rippled, mimicking the caress of ocean waves. The meticulous detailing of pearls, entwined in velvet and silk, spoke of treasures hidden beneath the waves, waiting for discovery.

As Luly poetically puts it, “Beneath shimmering ocean waves are remarkable treasures waiting to be discovered: vibrant corals, lustrous pearls, and beautiful bioluminescence.”

Every shade of blue, every ripple in the fabric, transported us on a poetic maritime journey, making us yearn for the embrace of the sea.

Embracing Earth’s Elegance

Shifting from the watery depths to the embrace of terra firma, the Earth collection blossomed in a riot of colors. From the life-affirming greens of verdant meadows to the mellow yellows of dappled sunlight, each piece was a chapter in Earth’s untold story. One couldn’t help but pause and admire the dark green dress; its sheer coverup gently kissed by leaves felt like an ode to Mother Nature herself.

Luly captures the essence with, “On land, seasonal colors shift from vivacious greens to subtle bronze. As leaves fall, rebirth begins. Our forest floor is nourished, and magnificent flowers bloom.” The collection was a heartfelt sonnet to Earth’s ever-changing beauty.

Soaring Dreams

But what is life without dreams? The crescendo of the show lifted our spirits, quite literally, to the realm of skies. The dream of flight, captured in every weave and pattern, resonated with our age-old longing to spread our wings. Ethereal patterns evoked the delicate wings, while hues transitioned from the airy whites and blues of bird feathers to the intoxicating lilacs and purples of dusk. Each design, with its free-flowing form and the whimsical touch of feathers, seemed ready to take flight, capturing the allure of the endless skies.

As Luly beautifully mused, “Humans who dreamed of flight looked to the skies at feathered birds for inspiration. And we admired the beautiful, patterned wings.”

Gazing at Luly’s “Made in Nature” collection was akin to witnessing an art form in motion. It was more than just fashion; it was an ode, a sonnet, to our world’s unparalleled beauty. Every piece was an invitation, an intimate dialogue between the designer and the spectator, urging us to “look at our home with new, enamored eyes.”

In this mesmerizing dance between elegance, nature, and generosity, Luly Yang not only unveiled her unparalleled design prowess but also unveiled her heart – passionate, wild, and brimming with love for the natural canvas we call home.

In the world of fashion, September marks the beginning of a new year. As the most coveted print issues hit the newsstands, designers from around the world prepare to dazzle the industry’s elite in New York, London, Milan, and Paris. Fashion month is about to kick off, promising runway spectacles, street-style moments, and viral sensations. And it all commences with the prestigious New York Fashion Week (NYFW).

This season, NYFW promises a showcase of Spring/Summer 2024 collections with numerous designers gracing the runways and presentations. Approximately 70 designers feature on the official NYFW calendar, curated by the Council of Fashion Designers of America. While the figure may be slightly reduced from last year, the lineup still boasts an array of exciting names, both new and returning.

As the countdown to NYFW begins, JetsetMag brings you an exclusive preview of what to expect during this fashion extravaganza, set to take place from September 8 to September 13.

Peter Do’s Helmut Lang Debut: A New Era Unveiled

A new era dawns at Helmut Lang as New York designer Peter Do assumes the role of creative director. Do’s mission is to revive the Austrian designer’s iconic legacy, famous for ’90s fashion with its “deconstructionist” and “minimalist” essence. Do’s inaugural showcase, scheduled for September 8 at 2 p.m. ET, promises to be a defining moment for NYFW.

“No one embodied radical thinking more definitively than Helmut Lang,” said Do. “I am excited to learn from the foundations this house stands on and to continue creating new, energetic clothes that inspire people to challenge their understanding of what is possible when it comes to expressing their individuality.”

The Comebacks: Returning to the Spotlight

While the NYFW calendar may have undergone a slimming down, it welcomes several designers returning to the stage. Ralph Lauren, whose last NYFW show was in September 2019, will make a grand return on September 8 at 7 p.m. ET. Other notable comebacks include sustainable womenswear designer Jonathan Cohen (September 9, 9 a.m. ET), Gypsy Sport by Rio Uribe (September 11, 6 p.m. ET), and Phillip Lim (September 10, 5 p.m. ET) after a three-year hiatus.

The Newcomers: Rising Stars on the Horizon

While veterans return, NYFW also shines a spotlight on fresh faces. Standout newcomers include Advisry, Sho Konishi, Chan Chit Lo, and Grace Ling, all set to showcase their Spring/Summer 2024 collections on the runway. Teddy Vonranson and Nicholas Raefski, known for their presence in New York Men’s Day, will debut their latest collections via independent presentations.

Additionally, the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund’s 2023 finalists will grace NYFW with their collections, featuring names like Sami Miró’s Sami Miró Vintage and Kozaburu’s Kozaburu Akasaka alongside the reemergence of designers under new titles.

The Milestones: Celebrating a Decade of Style

2023 marks the 10th anniversary for several NYFW designers, promising grand celebrations. Stuart Vevers celebrates a decade at Coach, while Gypsy Sport by Rio Uribe marks its 10-year journey. Phaidon commemorates its 100th anniversary with a star-studded event co-hosted by Linda Evangelista and Thom Browne. J. Crew honors its 40th anniversary with a concert by The Strokes, and Christian Siriano’s label celebrates 15 years at the Pierre Hotel.

The Victoria’s Secret Revival: A Fashion Spectacle Reimagined

Victoria’s Secret is gearing up to relaunch its famed annual fashion show under a new name: The World Tour. Scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime on September 26, the show features a star-studded cast including Doja Cat, Adriana Lima, Gigi Hadid, Hailey Bieber, Paloma Elsesser, and more. It aims to unite fashion, film, art, and culture while spotlighting emerging global trailblazers. Leading up to The World Tour’s premiere, Victoria’s Secret will tease the show with a preview event and a surprise musical performance during New York Fashion Week.

Stay tuned to JetsetMag for comprehensive coverage throughout New York Fashion Week and witness the latest trends and moments that will define the fashion landscape in the coming months. Created in LV’s Monogram Eclipse canvas, the cabin-sized case is covered in an array of either multicolored or gray-scale dots which are screen printed to give them a 3D hand-painted texture. Cowhide leather trim, leather corners and a zipped closure system with padlock complete the look.

The Prada triangle was first introduced on trunks designed by the fashion house’s founder Mario Prada, and now the company reinvents this iconic symbol in a different way each season. For this sleek trolley, the triangle is embroidered in contrasting colors of black and beige to create a sophisticated and modern geometric pattern. The brand also uses its trademark Saffiano leather to embellish the design. An enameled metal Prada logo is displayed on the front.

The location chosen for the star-studded event, the 2024 Spring-Summer Men’s Fashion Show presented by Louis Vuitton and Pharrell Williams, was none other than the spectacular and iconic Pont Neuf. This historical bridge provided a breathtaking backdrop with its stunning views of the Seine River and the picturesque Ile de la Cité. The combination of the bridge’s architectural grandeur and the natural beauty of the surroundings set the stage for a truly memorable and visually striking fashion experience.

As the event unfolded, Pharrell Williams unveiled his highly anticipated debut collection as the new Maison’s menswear creative director. Drawing inspiration from his eclectic musical career and unique personal style, Williams infused his collection with a vibrant and youthful energy, showcasing his innovative approach to fashion.

The color palette of the collection was a harmonious fusion of bold and vivid hues, with pops of primary colors and unexpected combinations. Electric blues, vibrant yellows, fiery reds, and lush greens dominated the runway, creating an eye-catching display that exuded confidence and playfulness. The use of intense color patterns brought an element of excitement and joy to the collection, evoking a sense of optimism and celebration of life.

In terms of style features, Pharrell Williams introduced a blend of contemporary streetwear aesthetics and refined luxury. The collection showcased a juxtaposition of relaxed silhouettes and tailored pieces, highlighting the versatility of the modern man’s wardrobe. Oversized jackets with exaggerated proportions were paired with slim-fitting trousers, creating a balanced contrast. Athletic-inspired elements such as track pants and hooded jackets were reimagined with luxurious materials and intricate detailing, adding a touch of opulence to the sporty looks.

Textures played a significant role in defining the collection’s character. Williams incorporated a variety of tactile materials, ranging from soft velvets and plush cashmeres to lightweight silks and crisp linens. These contrasting textures not only added depth and dimension to the garments but also enhanced the overall sensory experience, enticing the audience with their touchable allure.

Pharrell Williams paid meticulous attention to detail, infusing the collection with a myriad of intricate embellishments and accessories. Embroidered motifs, beaded patterns, and sequined accents adorned jackets, shirts, and even accessories, creating a sense of opulence and craftsmanship. The use of luxurious hardware, such as gold-plated buttons and buckles, further elevated the overall aesthetic, showcasing the Maison’s commitment to impeccable craftsmanship.

In summary, Pharrell Williams’ debut collection as Louis Vuitton’s menswear creative director for the 2024 Spring-Summer Men’s Fashion Show was a testament to his artistic vision and boundary-pushing approach to fashion. The collection’s vibrant color palette, eclectic style features, captivating textures, and meticulous attention to detail resulted in a truly memorable showcase that seamlessly blended contemporary streetwear with refined luxury. Against the breathtaking backdrop of Pont Neuf, the event left an indelible mark in the world of fashion, setting the tone for a new era under Williams’ creative leadership.

The fusion of fashion and music has always sparked intrigue and excitement, and the collaboration between Versace and pop sensation Dua Lipa is no exception. From her early connection with the iconic fashion house to the unveiling of their joint masterpiece, the “La Vacanza” collection, this partnership exudes passion, creativity, and a shared love for all things summer. Embark on a journey through this article as we delve into the details of this remarkable collaboration and explore the vibrant world of Versace and Dua Lipa.

A Timeless Bond:

The foundation of this extraordinary collaboration can be traced back to 2018 when Dua Lipa adorned a striking Versace swimsuit during her unforgettable performance of “New Rules” at the Brit Awards. Since then, a close relationship between the singer and the fashion house has flourished. Dua Lipa has embraced vintage Versace on prestigious occasions, graced the pages of British Vogue as a model for their collections, and even had the honor of opening Donatella’s Milan Fashion Week show in 2022. The undeniable chemistry and mutual admiration between the two creative powerhouses set the stage for their groundbreaking collaboration.

A Creative Adventure Begins:

Dua Lipa’s foray into fashion design took shape with the support of her friend, Donatella Versace. Fuelled by memories of hedonistic summers, the duo conceived the idea for the “La Vacanza” collection during an exhilarating girls’ night out in New York. The anticipation built as the collection, perfectly capturing the essence of sun-soaked getaways, was unveiled at a dazzling runway presentation on the French Riviera.

An Immersive Experience:

Immersed in an aura of Greco-Roman elegance, the “La Vacanza” collection debuted in a pristine setting. A white catwalk encircled an opulent pool, ensconced by lush green grass and blessed with a breathtaking view of the azure ocean. This picturesque backdrop enhanced the allure of the beachwear-inspired designs that awaited the eager audience.

A Kaleidoscope of Colors and Patterns:

Models such as Amelia Gray Hamlin, Iris Law, and Anok Yai took to the runway, showcasing the vibrant and captivating “La Vacanza” collection. The lineup boasted Barbiecore pinks, playful butterfly embellishments on polka dots, shimmering metallics, disco-inspired silhouettes, and psychedelic prints. Among the standout pieces were the mesmerizing pink metallic butterfly-cowboy boots, skin-tight dresses adorned with psychedelic florals, and the black dress that Dua Lipa herself debuted at the Cannes Film Festival with her partner, Romain Gavras. Additionally, the collection featured bustier tops with convenient pockets for breast coverings and eye-catching metallic platform mules.

The Essence of Summer:

Donatella Versace revealed that the collection drew inspiration from her love for summer and her deep admiration for Dua Lipa. In her statement, she expressed, “Gorgeous colors, fun prints, and light silhouettes. This is the perfect summer collection.” The spirit of vacation and sunshine radiated from the clothes, embodying the joyful essence of the season. It is a collection that seamlessly transitions from lounging by the pool in a playful printed bikini to dressing up for sultry summer evenings in the perfect evening gown.

A Perfect Pairing:

The collaboration between Dua Lipa and Versace was destined to be remarkable due to their shared passion for music and fashion. Donatella Versace expressed her delight in the partnership, stating, “Dua loves Fashion, I love Music—we are the perfect duo!” The design process itself was an enjoyable experience, evoking a vacation-like atmosphere that permeates the spirit of the collection. When wearing these exquisite garments, individuals are encouraged to embrace a carefree and vibrant state of mind.

A Barbie-Inspired Extravaganza:

On the runway, “La Vacanza” exuded a sartorial sensibility that was bright, blithe, and unmistakably Barbie-coded. Dua Lipa’s involvement with the upcoming “Barbie” movie lent a touch of enchantment to the collection. Faux metal-mesh dresses in aquamarine, butterfly-embellished miniskirts, and fluorescent capri leggings delighted the audience. The color palette primarily consisted of pastels, ranging from powder pink mini dresses adorned with the iconic Medusa pendants and Greca key detailing to sky blue monogrammed suits. Lipa encapsulated the collection’s essence by declaring, “The weather’s nice, we want to get dressed and look cute.”

Gucci’s latest creation, the Cruise 2024 collection, invites the elite into a realm where the past and present intertwine effortlessly. Embarking on an extraordinary journey, Gucci delves into its remarkable archives through the prism of the Hallyu phenomenon, all set amidst the resplendent and storied grounds of Seoul’s Gyeongbokgung Palace.

When the pursuit of novel locations has exhausted all possibilities, one must return to the roots of antiquity. And that is precisely what Gucci has accomplished with its Cruise 2024 collection. In a groundbreaking move, the revered 628-year-old heritage brand selected the iconic Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul as the backdrop for its final collection by the in-house designers, just before the arrival of the esteemed, Sabato De Sarno. This transitional season allowed Gucci to focus on reviving archival silhouettes, thereby immersing itself in the essence and sophistication of Hallyu, which stands as the epitome of influence in contemporary fashion, luxury, and global culture.

It is unnecessary to elaborate on the significance of the Korean market in the fashion industry, considering Gucci’s Seoul runway debut only a few months after Dior and Louis Vuitton. Had the previous creative director, Alessandro Michele, showcased his Cosmogenie Collection in Seoul last October, Gucci would have claimed second place on this prestigious list. The brand’s history with Korea began in 1998 when it unveiled its first flagship store in the country, precisely 25 years prior to this remarkable show. However, it was the appointment of EXO member Kai as Gucci’s inaugural Korean global brand ambassador in 2019 that solidified the brand’s contemporary presence, making it a magnet for Korean ambassadors and VIPs in the realm of fashion. Gucci, as one of the few luxury brands to successfully navigate and ascend with the Hallyu wave, has become synonymous with its ebbs and flows.

Choosing to showcase within the heart of South Korea’s capital, a de facto tourist destination, carries profound symbolism beyond mere brand presence. Gyeongbokgung Palace holds historical significance as the birthplace of hangul, the Korean alphabet, a center of early artistic and scientific developments, and a host to foreign diplomats and VIPs during the Joseon dynasty. By presenting its Cruise 2024 collection to fashion’s esteemed foreign dignitaries within this historically rich venue, Gucci embraces the bold and captivating spirit of the Korean fashion landscape that inspired the design of the collection. It is this remarkable synchrony between attire and design that establishes the season’s youthful, experimental, and ever-evolving nature—a testament to Gucci’s recent mastery of contemporary aesthetics.

Accompanied by the evocative scores from acclaimed films such as “Oldboy,” “Parasite,” and “Squid Game,” the Cruise 2024 collection effortlessly weaves together the sights of Seoul’s vibrant streets with the customs of South Korean traditional dress. The collection offers a layered exploration of archival silhouettes from the late 1990s, vividly expressed through the mesmerizing colors of the 2010s.

Amidst the myriad influences, the show remained cohesive, crystal clear, and an exquisite homage to culture. Thick silk bands adorning the chest artfully mimic the goreum, a single-earred ribbon reminiscent of the traditional Korean dress. Attendees’ Gucci bags adorned with an assortment of charms evoke the norigae, traditional decorative pendants. Even the Gucci Web, magnified to striking proportions, pays homage to the saekdong, a satin fabric with vibrant vertical bands, seamlessly referencing the hanbok—a testament to Korea’s paramount role in fashion history, executed with the grace and elegance it deserves.

The in-house design team expertly interweaves historical tributes with a deep understanding of contemporary fashion. Delicate evening gowns and demure bouclé skirt suits are transformed into modular pieces, while bomber jackets and hoodies elongate into breathtaking dresses. South Korean artist Ram Han’s contribution adds another dimension as hyper-sensory biomorphic motifs, inspired by both Oriental art and Y2K sentiments, embellish dresses and hoodies. Gucci’s characteristic bourgeois effects of lustrous metallics, glimmering crystals, and shimmering sequins add the final touch, harmonizing perfectly with Korean street style’s duality and hybridity.

The collection generously embraces the relaxed and voluminous cuts reminiscent of skateboarding wear, evident in the coats, dress shirts, and billowy trousers. Caps tantalizingly hint at a potential collaboration with the renowned French workwear brand Danton, building on Gucci’s audacious partnership with Dickies last year. Scuba wetsuit elements ingeniously transform into bodices, one-pieces, and shorts, evoking the archival presence of the 1990s alongside Seoul’s recent fascination with windsurfing and jet-skiing in the Han River.
